Dedicated Leader, Community Advocate, Experienced Public Servant & Family Man

With over 34 years in school operations and municipal leadership, Henry Gideon is dedicated to smart growth, responsible governance, and community-driven progress. As a retired Assistant Superintendent and active leader in Hutto, he has worked to improve infrastructure, support economic development, and strengthen public safety.

Henry believes leadership is about unity and action. He has served as Treasurer of the Hutto Economic Development Corporation and Commissioner for WILCO ESD #3, ensuring real solutions for Hutto’s future. His focus is on transparent leadership, responsible planning, and creating opportunities for families and businesses.

Beyond his public service, Henry is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He and his college sweetheart, Staci, have built a life rooted in education and community service. Staci, a retired Fine Arts and Gifted and Talented educator, shares Henry’s passion for enriching the lives of others.

Together, they have two children—Andee, who resides in Bastrop with her husband Aaron, and Tristan, who lives in Schertz with his wife Morgan. Their greatest joy comes from their three grandchildren: Malakai, Maeve Wren, and Maren Josefine.

As mayor, Henry will bring the same dedication to Hutto that he has brought to his family—prioritizing smart infrastructure, economic prosperity, and a stronger, more connected community. He’s ready to listen, lead, and work alongside residents to build a thriving Hutto for generations to come.

• Why are you running for Mayor of Hutto?

I’m running for mayor because Hutto deserves strong, transparent leadership that puts the community first. Our city has experienced division and dysfunction, and I believe we need leadership that builds partnerships, fosters smart growth, and ensures responsible governance. It’s time to restore trust and work together for a better future.

• What is your plan to improve infrastructure in Hutto?

Our rapid growth demands smart infrastructure planning. I will work closely with city officials to prioritize road improvements, utility upgrades, and emergency response readiness. Investing in infrastructure now will create a strong foundation for sustainable development and attract businesses that support our community.

• How will you support education and workforce development?

Education is the backbone of our community. I will collaborate with Hutto ISD and East Williamson County Higher Education to ensure students receive the best opportunities. Additionally, I’ll advocate for workforce development programs to equip residents with skills for today’s job market, creating more employment opportunities right here in Hutto.

• What steps will you take to enhance public safety?

The safety and well-being of Hutto residents is my top priority. I will support law enforcement, fire services, and emergency management by ensuring they have the necessary resources to protect our community. I will also advocate for improved mental health services and community-based safety initiatives.

• How will you encourage economic growth and job creation?

Hutto must be a city where businesses thrive. I will work with the Economic Development Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, and regional partners to attract new businesses, support local entrepreneurs, and create high-quality jobs. By reducing red tape and promoting responsible growth, we can strengthen Hutto’s economy.

• How will you promote transparency and community engagement?

Transparency is key to good governance. I will ensure open communication between the city and residents, making government more accessible through town halls, community forums, and digital updates. Everyone in Hutto deserves a voice in shaping our future, and I will work to include all perspectives in decision-making.

• What is your vision for Hutto’s parks and community spaces?

Parks, green spaces, and community centers are essential for quality of life. I will support initiatives to improve and expand these spaces, ensuring families have safe, well-maintained areas to gather, exercise, and connect. Our public spaces should reflect the pride and vibrancy of our growing community.

• How will you address regional planning and partnerships?

Hutto doesn’t exist in isolation; we are interconnected with surrounding areas. I will foster strong regional partnerships to improve transportation, infrastructure, and economic opportunities. Collaboration with nearby municipalities and counties is essential for long-term success.

With over 34 years of experience in school operations, municipal leadership, and community development, I bring the expertise needed to manage a growing city like Hutto. My work in infrastructure, economic planning, and public service has prepared me to lead with integrity, vision, and accountability.
